Moss Vale Golf Club creates history

On the 23rd September 2013 Robyn John made history by becoming the first female Captain at Moss Vale Golf Club in its 100+ year s history. Robyn said that, This will be something new to the Club, and so far the men have been very positive about my appointment. Robyn joined Moss Vale in 1994 having never previously played golf. It didn t take her long to become involved in the Club. She has been a member of the Ladies Committee for seventeen years. Her roles on the Committee included Handicap Manager, Vice-Captain, Captain, President and Captain again until 2013. Robyn also served on the Board for four years as a Member on the Greens, Pro-Am and Match Committees. Her involvement with golf administration expanded to the District. She was the Tournament Director and President of the Central Southern District Golf Association (CSGA) for seven years. During that time, she also held positions as the District Councillor for Women’s Golf NSW and sat on the Match Committee for close to five years. Robyn s face would be familiar in the rules circles as she participated in the Rules Seminars with Bob McEwan and current Golf NSW Director Frank Gal, and is Club level rules accredited. Congratulations to Robyn and to Moss Vale Golf Club on their historic appointment. For more information visit: www.mossvalegolfclub.com.au
