Moules to join Asian Amateur field

Brad Moules (Royal Adelaide) SA state representative Brad Moules is set to join the field of the prestigious Asian Amateur championship in Singapore. Moules, the 2011 Golf SA Amateur champion, qualified for the event by virtue of his R&A World Amateur ranking which has risen to 186 as at the end of July 2011. He joins five other Australian players eligible to make the trip to Singapore including Matthew Steiger (NSW, WAGR number 34), Jake Higginbottom (NSW, 76), Cameron Smith (QLD, 167), Luke Humphries (NSW, 267) and the American college-based Matthew Smith (ACT, 169). The 2011 Asian Amateur, which this year is being held at the Singapore Island Country Club from September 26 to October 3, is one of the most prestigious events on the international amateur circuit, with the winner receiving an invitation to the 2012 US Masters and 2012 Dubai Desert Classic, and both the winner and runner-up receiving entry to final qualifying for the 2012 British Open. The tournament is also broadcast to over 150 countries worldwide, both live and via tape delay. Last years Asian Amateur Champion, Japan&aposs Hideki Matsuyama, won the Silver Trophy as the leading amateur at the 2011 Masters at Augusta in April.
