GOLF SA AMATEUR CLASSIC Golf SA Amateur Classic Final Results South Australia&aposs Brad Moules completed a hard fought one stroke victory at the Golf SA Amateur Classic at Glenelg Golf Club despite a nerve-wracking final three holes which nearly scuppered his chances of victory. Moules, who won the 2008 South Australian Boys Amateur title, finished with rounds of 73-65-68-78 to finish at even par for the tournament, despite dropping seven shots in his closing three holes. Glenelg proved punishing on the final day with only Golf Australia National Squad member Ryan McCarthy (TAS) and Victorian Luke Bleumink firing even or below par. Moules, who finished runner-up to Jake Higginbottom at the 2009 Aaron Baddeley International Junior Championship, held off a field including Srixon Australian Amateur champion Matt Jager, Mandurah Easter Amateur champion Jason Scrivener, Daniel Beckmann and McCarthy. The Golf South Australia Amateur Classic was had given National Trial status for the first time this year. RENE ERICHSEN SALVER Rene Erichsen Salver Final Results Western Australian Jessica Speechley continued her recent run of good form to win the Rene Erichsen Salver by two strokes at Glenelg Golf Club. Speechley finished with rounds of 76-71-76-73 to hold off a challenge from fellow National Squad member Ashley Ona. There was daylight between Speechley and Ona and the rest of the field with South Australian Emma Ash nine strokes behind Ona in third. Sarah King and Breanna Elliot shared fourth place and were two strokes behind Ash.
