Anthony Murdaca (The Grange GC) and Jenny Lee (Glenelg GC) have started the 2012 season in fine style, by taking out the Golf SA Junior Masters at Royal Adelaide Golf Club. Murdaca has now won his past 3 Tournaments, the Greg Norman Junior Masters national ranking event at Coolangatta Tweed Heads Golf Club, The Golf SA Junior Open at Glenelg and now the SA Junior Masters. Past boys winners include Adam Scott, Marc Leisham, David Lutterus, and Jason Day. After winning the tournament in 2010 as a fourteen year old, Anthony now becomes the first player in the events sixteen year history to win the title twice. He set up his win by carding a 2-under par 70 on Thursday morning, before finishing the day at 2 over the card, after an afternoon score of 76. His round three score of 75 (only equaled by Kieren Barratt – Thaxted Park), saw him head into the final round 5 strokes ahead of Jack Williams (The Grange). Murdaca claimed the title in emphatic style carding a 3-under par 69 to finish the tournament with a score of 2-over par (290), 9 strokes from fellow Grange member Jack Williams 76, 72, 78, 73 (299). Ben Stowe (Royal Adelaide) was a further four shots back in third place, following rounds of 74, 78, 76, 75 (303). In the Girl&aposs Masters, held for only the second time, Lee recorded an impressive 16-shot victory following rounds of 77, 81, 80, 74 (312) 20-over par. In second position was Glenelg&aposs Elysia Yap 82, 81, 82, 83 (328) with Kristalle Blum (Grange) finishing third after rounds of 84, 86, 84, 81 (335) Lee who claimed the title in 2011 with a score of 307, is the player to beat at next week s Junior Amateur Championship.
