Murdaca starts well in Scotland

1st round today, Moray GC Par 71. Scores as follows:

Antonio Murdaca 70
Ben Eccles 70
Kiran Day 72
Lucas Herbert 73
DJ Loypur 74
Andrew Schonewille 75
Brett Coletta 75
Daniel Gale 79

Testing conditions for the morning field today, winds gusting and greens playing firm and fast. Antonio Murdaca was in the 4th group out, teeing of at 7:40am. The temperature was around 4deg at that time and closer to zero with wind chill, so it made warming up very tough! A solid par on the 1st was followed with a trip to the thick gorse lining the 2nd fairway and a lost ball, eventually making a great up and down from 90m for a double bogey 7! Great putting (10 through the front 9 holes) and a chip in on the par 4 6th hole saw Antonio turn in even par. He played solid golf coming home for his 1 under 70. Antonio said "with a solid start I felt like there was a 4 under out there for me today but after being 2 over through 2 I'm really happy to finish at -1 and hopefully build on that tomorrow".

All the guys played solid golf but its the sort of course that really punishes missed shots, they don't have to miss by much to find the gorse and that equals lost ball! The conditions will be tough tomorrow with high winds and rain forecast, great conditions for the Aussie lads to demonstrate their skills and climb the leaderboard!
