MyGolf Caddy Kids take the spotlight at World Super 6

The next generation of local golfers have today experienced what it is like to step inside the ropes and walk alongside their idols. The MyGolf ‘Caddy Kids’ initiative once again proved to be a huge hit amongst the pros, amateurs and kids alike.

32 young golfers from around WA were paired with a pro-am group and had the opportunity to walk side-by-side with some of the leading pros in the ISPS HANDA World Super 6 field.

Local MyGolfers Oli, Ben and Bailey were lucky enough to be paired with Jason Scrivener’s group that also included Fremantle Dockers legend, Matthew Pavlich and Australian tennis player, John Peers.

Jason Scrivener’s caddy, Rance De Grussa took time to during the round to offer Oli, Ben and Bailey an insight into the role of a professional caddy.

Lake Karrinyup’s 8th hole is a tricky uphill Par 3 that requires an initial carry over water and includes several strategically placed bunkers.

De Grussa talked the boys through the process that he and Scrivener run through when deciding how to attack a given hole such as pin placement, the slope of the green and wind distance.

This insight and knowledge from Scrivener and De Grussa is an example of the many wonderful opportunities that the Caddy Kid initiative affords our next generation of golfers.

Thanks to the PGA for supporting this initiative and to the pros and their caddies for being so open and welcoming of the Caddy Kids.
