MyGolf Centre of the Month: January 2016

Golf City Ballarat is the winner of this month’s MyGolf Centre of the Month award.

Golf City Ballarat joined MyGolf in order to get golf clubs in the hands of primary school age youngsters. MyGolf co-ordinator and PGA professional Andrew Cartledge understands the importance of exposing kids to golf at a young age as there are a number of other competing sports and activities available for them.

Golf City experienced 34 junior enrolments across its term 1 programs – a great result for the driving range facility. Andrew and his team are also very active within local high schools and run programs for several students at Invermay Primary School.

“We are quite happy with the number of MyGolf junior enrolments for term 1,” Andrew said.

“The MyGolf program’s online registration process is simple, effective and minimises paperwork-related administration so we can concentrate on delivering great golf programs and experiences.”

Andrew and the team at Golf City will continue running MyGolf programs throughout the year. He encourages all of his current MyGolfers to continue with the program and invites new juniors to get involved.

“We hope to see a large number of juniors at our facility as the year passes,” Andrew said.

“We certainly have our sights set on becoming the largest MyGolf Centre in Australia, hopefully we can get there!”

Andrew implements a few strategies to keep his juniors engaged and entertained within his MyGolf programs.

He incorporates games and drills, pairs the juniors together when working on activities so they can create friendships and takes the juniors to the golf course fortnightly to play a shortened course with modified scoring.

“To run a successful MyGolf program you need to be 100 per cent committed, never run a half-hearted program, to look after every single junior as though they are your friend and make sure you always grow their confidence,” Andrew said.

Congratulations to Andrew and his team at Golf City Ballarat for implementing and delivering such successful MyGolf programs.

The MyGolf Team looks forward to watching your programs continue to succeed and grow throughout the year.

Keep up the great work!
