MYGolf hits 5,500 participants

Australian golf&aposs national junior program continues to grow with the program&aposs 5,500th participant registering in the last week. The program, launched in 2010 for boys and girls aged 8 16 years to develop and assess their golf skills, has proven popular across the country. The work of dedicated volunteers and junior golf coordinators at golf clubs around the country has played a key role in the ongoing growth of the program and ensured children from metropolitan and regional communities. Approximately 120,000 nationally children take part in the MYGolf Schools Program – a school physical education syllabus designed to introduce students to golf for the first time and engage them with basic skills. The program is endorsed by Golf Australia, the Australian Sports Commission, School Sport Australia and the R&A and has the support of all State Associations and Junior Foundations. Legendary Australian golfers Greg Norman and Karrie Webb are Program Ambassadors.
