MYGolf interactive zone a hit at The Presidents Cup

From the 14th 20th November Golf Australia s Development Manager, Cameron Wade, along with a team of Golf Victoria staff members, took MYGolf out on location to Royal Melbourne for the 2011 Presidents Cup. Situated in the Interactive Zone near the Public Village, six different stations were set up with various chipping, pitching and putting activities to challenge and entertain kids. The Fly It pitching area was a big hit with all who participated as they tried to get their ball up into the red circle and score maximum points. The most difficult challenge proved to be the first of the two Chip It areas. The chipping basket catered for all levels as it could be tilted forward for beginners, flat for those wanting a little bit of a challenge and backwards for those game enough to take on the near-impossible. The second Chip It activity was a standard chipping net where kids scored 1 point if they got their ball in the net on the fly or, for the more advanced, 2 points if they could get the ball to bounce in the red hoop and then land in the net. Finally, the “Roll It” putting activities allowed kids to start with close putts and work their way out to longer, more difficult putts as well as an accuracy challenge where kids moved around the mat and tried to get all 10 of their putts in the hole. No one left the MYGolf area empty handed, with prizes handed out to all who participated. MYGolf stickers and fans were among the prizes handed out, as well as PlayGolf wristbands and a MYGolf Gift Bag containing a poster, drink bottle and PVC ball for them to practice at home with.
