MyGolfer of the month: August 2015

The MyGolf Team congratulates August MyGolfer of the Month, Beau Lavery.

It was almost certain that Beau, from Charters Towers, south-west of Townsville, would take up golf after receiving a set of plastic golf clubs for his first birthday and a full set of clubs when he turned five.

Beau has been a member of MyGolf since Charter Towers Golf Club first implemented the program and has progressed to the Master level.

MyGolf co-ordinator Bridie Holmes has been extremely impressed with the level of dedication and the amount of time and effort Beau has put into developing his golfing skills.

“Beau is very committed,” Holmes said.

“He attends every MyGolf session with great enthusiasm and displays great sportsmanship among his peers.”

Beau decided to take up junior membership at Charters Towers and was named the junior captain, testament to his leadership qualities shown through his passion and dedication for golf.

At just 10 years of age, Beau recently won the C Grade Nett in the men’s closed championship at Charters Towers. He and his Grandma were also nett runners-up in the closed mixed foursomes event.

Congratulations on your achievements, Beau!

Your MyGolf co-ordinator and the MyGolf Team are very proud of you.
