MyGolfers excited by experience of a lifetime

Defending Emirates Australian Open champion and world No.1 Jordan Spieth, former champion Adam Scott and hometown hero and new champion Matt Jones put on a show at the national championship.

Not only did they play some extraordinary golf, they each gave a group of young MyGolfers an experience of a lifetime during tournament week.

On the Tuesday leading up to the tournament, 60 ecstatic MyGolfers, dressed like Jordan, waited patiently as he finished his practice round so they could get up close with the world No.1 and experience a MyGolf clinic of a lifetime.

And Jordan didn’t disappoint!

The young Texan put on a fascinating display of trick shots, had a ‘chip-off’ with a couple of the MyGolfers to see who could get closer to the pin and answered several questions the youngsters fired at him.

After the clinic, the MyGolfers departed The Australian Golf Club with a signed cap from their hero and huge smiles on their faces!

On Wednesday, another 30 MyGolfers experienced an intimate Q&A clinic with former Australian Open champion Adam Scott.

The youngsters gathered out the front of the Emirates marquee and chatted excitedly as they waited for the clinic to start. As they entered the marquee and positioned themselves in front of the 2009 victor, the excited banter was evidently replaced with a silencing feeling of awe.

Adam broke the silence by describing how he first got into golf, his experiences over the years and what it’s like to be on the tour. The MyGolfers asked Adam plenty of questions and were thrilled to leave the Q&A clinic with an autograph and group photo with Adam.

As the Australian Open came to a nail-biting finish on Sunday, seven lucky MyGolfers formed a formed a guard of honour for the champion, Matt Jones, as he entered the final presentation ceremony on the 18th green.  The MyGolfers were lucky enough to congratulate the hometown hero and get a photo with him as he held the Stonehaven Cup.
