MyGolfers open #WomensAusOpen

As the eyes of the golfing world turn to world No. 1 Ariya Jutanugarn, Lydia Ko and MyGolf Ambassador Minjee Lee this morning, two new names stepped into the spotlight.

Junior golfers from the MyGolf program Katie Seol (7) and Isabelle Watson (12) were selected to open the 2019 ISPS Handa Womens Open this morning as honorary starters from the 1st and 10th tees.

Both girls have advanced through MyGolf junior programs, recently establishing handicaps and, for the first time in December, both Isabelle and Katie participated in SA Junior Open stableford events, performing strongly.

Katie, from Tea Tree Gully, playing off a handicap of GA 19.7 also represented her club in the MyGolf Junior League.

“I really appreciate Golf Australia for giving me this valuable opportunity. I’m very excited and nervous but it will be a really fun and memorable experience in my life,” said Katie.

Isabelle who plays off a handicap of 22.1 at Willunga Golf Club was equally ecstatic.

"I am honored to be chosen to take the opening tee shot of the tournament. This is my fourth year attending the championship and I’m really excited to be a part of a major female sporting event in South Australia,” said Isabelle.
