Na and Smith set for memorable Women’s US Open week

Australian golf legend Karrie Webb will host a couple of young Aussie stars at this week&aposs Women&aposs US Open at Interlachen Country Club, Minnesota. Stephanie Na and Kristie Smith recently claimed the inaugural Karrie Webb Scholarships and will receive mentoring and a personal insight from one of the world&aposs best. The Golf Australia/AIS National Squad pair is currently in the United States competing in a host of events including the US and Canadian Amateur Championships but their schedule has allowed them to spend time with Webb as she prepares for the Women&aposs US Open. Peter Knight, Director of Elite Development at Golf Australia said, “This is a once in a lifetime experience for Stephanie and Kristie. They should use this week to soak up everything they possibly can about how Karrie and the other stars in the field prepare for a Major. “They can certainly learn a lot that will not only help them in their careers now, but hopefully long into the future as they strive to reach their personal and professional goals. This will come about with introductions not only to some of the finest players in the world, but also those associated with the best women’s tour in the world such as media and LPGA Tour administration people.” Webb gets her Women&aposs US Open campaign underway alongside Yani Tseng and Christina Kim on Thursday evening (AEST).
