With the Emirates Australian Open in full swing next week, the inaugural National Golf Disability Challenge tees off on Tuesday November 8 at The Coast Golf Club in Little Bay. Competitors from Amputee Golf Australia, Deaf Golf Australia, Blind Golf Australia and Special Olympics Australia will take on the course in Stableford competition. Queensland s Dave Sawtell, who holds the National and Guinness Book of Records honours for Long Drive from a wheelchair, will launch the event. Golf Australia National Director Golf Development Frances Crampton said the event gave golfers of all abilities the chance to compete during the biggest month on Australia s golfing calendar. It is extraordinary what these players can achieve in the game, Crampton said. They are inspiration to everyone else in the golf community for their determination to continue playing golf and ensure they still enjoy the benefits that golf provides, she added. The National Golf Disability Challenge is held on Tuesday November 8 from 12pm at The Coast Golf Club, Little Bay, NSW.
