Perth's Hira Naveed has been recognised for her oustanding form at American college Pepperdine.
Naveed, a regular on West Australian state teams for the past few years, has today been announced as the West Coast Conference player of the month for September.
It is the second time the emerging Waves athlete has won the honour in six months, having also been April's best WCC player.
In the Waves' two September tournaments, Naveed won her first college tournament at the season-opening Dick McGuire Invitational and then finished fourth at the Golfweek Conference Challenge.
All six of Naveed's rounds were sub-par and she averaged 69.83 strokes per round. She shot a seven-under 209 at the McGuire. She entered the final round four shots off the lead, but shot a four-under-par 68 to win by one.
She followed that with a six-under-par 210 total at Golfweek.
Naveed helped the Waves to second-place team finishes at both events.
At the end of September, the Australian was ranked 17th nationally in the Golfweek/Sagarin ratings, best of any WCC player.
