Nervous wait ahead for Sim

Australian Michael Sim held on for a top-10 finish as Swede Daniel Chopra secured his maiden US PGA Tour victory in the Ginn sur Mer Classic on Monday. Sim, who finished his final round before darkness saw the tournament postponed, held onto a share of ninth place after several other top-10 contenders dropped shots on Monday. And there he stayed after Bob Estes and Briny Baird, who both began Monday equal with Sim, both fell back over the final holes. The result saw Sim climb to 162nd on the money list, but he needs to break into the top 150 to earn a provisional place which would allow him to play certain PGA tournaments on the US tour. The top 125 automatically retain their card for next year. Chopra sealed victory, his first in 133 starts on the US tour, when he birdied the 16th then held his nerve to prevail by one shot from compatriot Fredrik Jacobson and Japanese Shigeki Maruyama.
