New South Wales Indigenous Golf Program

The Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation (JNJGF) is introducing and providing greater access to the game to indigenous youth through their schools program, regional centre participation and special activities. Schools are targeted in both country and metropolitan areas. Areas include Griffith, Casino, Western Districts, Campbelltown and Redfern. Dubbo is a new focus area. Special projects such as the Croc Fest are also undertaken in country areas. The principal activity is the introduction of the game of golf to school children through the Go Go Golf program. 2007/2008 will see the maintenance and expansion of existing programs. JNJGF is looking to increase the number of schools participating in the country areas with new initiatives in the Dubbo and Cobar area. The Foundation is working towards reducing membership fees and providing free membership where possible and is providing programs and assistance to metropolitan and regional Active After Schools Care centres to improve our relationships and access to schools and children. Deniliquin has been targeted for Active After Schools Community programs.
