Nisbet seals fourth straight win

courtesy: Golf Queensland National Squad member Daniel Nisbet (Caboolture) has secured his fourth win from as many starts after holing a 12-foot birdie putt on the 72nd hole to win the Keperra Bowl by one stroke over AIS/Golf Australia squad member Brendan Smith (Pymble). Nisbet, fired a 4-under par 68 which included eight birdies, four bogies, and four pars on the Keperra layout in much windier conditions to that experienced earlier in the week. Nisbet&aposs winning total of 21-under par is the lowest in the tournament&aposs five year history, setting a new tournament record. Nisbet started the day with a two shot lead, but after some impressive golf, Smith managed to play his way back into contention getting it to 20-under par and tied with Nisbet on the final hole. Despite his best efforts, Smith&aposs par on the final hole for a 6-under par 66 was not enough, finishing runner-up for the tournament. Third place went to National Squad member Matt Jager (Melville Glades) who finished a further six shots back on 15-under par. The Queensland team of Daniel Nisbet and Tim Hart won the two-person interstate teams event by fifteen strokes over South Australia. Nisbet has been undoubtedly Australia&aposs hottest amateur talent in recent weeks, after victories at the SA Amateur Classic, Queensland Men&aposs Stroke Play Championship, Queensland Men&aposs Amateur Championship and now the Keperra Bowl.
