AIS/Golf Australia National Squad member Daniel Nisbet added another trophy to his growing collection with victory at the Hong Kong Amateur Championship. Nisbet, from Caboolture Golf Club in Queensland, was joint leader going into the final round of the championship with Mhark Fernando from the Phillippines. The Queenslander, who has already won the Queensland Stroke Play & Amateur Championships, Keperra Bowl and Golf SA Amateur Classic in 2009, held off a late charge from Fernando to win by two strokes at Discovery Bay Golf Club. Nisbet finished with rounds of 72-74-68-66 to be 8-under par for the championship. In a double dose of glory for Australia, Lester Peterson (NSW), coach of the NSW Men&aposs squad at the recent Australian Interstate Teams Matches, was crowned Hong Kong Mid-Amateur Champion. Peterson finished at 2-over par with a final round 1-under par 71 to win by a stunning 12 strokes from Hong Kong&aposs Tim Orgill in second.
