Nitties steady, Frazar sublime

American Harrison Frazar has carded a remarkable 13-under-par 59 in the fourth round of the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament in La Quinta, California to race into the outright lead as Australian James Nitties dropped to equal fourth. Frazar became the first player in eight years to hit golf&aposs magic number at q-school after reeling off seven straight birdies on the back nine of the Nicklaus Tournament course at PGA West and closed with a par. Nitties shot a steady two-under-par 70 to sit seven shots adrift of Frazar and three shots behind second place Tyler Aldridge. Fellow Australians Gavin Coles and Scott Gardiner both fired a one-under-par 71 to sit in joint 58th place. Won Joon Lee had another consistent round with a two-under-par 70 to be tied for 80th place. Matt Jones and Stuart Deane both struggled carding three over and five over rounds respectively.
