World number one Inbee Park won her third major for the year with a four-shot triumph at the US Women&aposs Open. Having already tasted success at the Kraft Nabisco Championship and the LPGA Championship this year, Park made it three from three at the majors in 2013 with another devastating performance at the Sebonack Golf Club in New York. The 24-year-old entered the final day with a four-shot advantage and was never seriously threatened as the players in the chasing pack found the windy conditions tough for scoring. Park made birdies at the ninth and 10th to extend her advantage and although she dropped two shots on the way home, she was far enough clear to hold on. The South Korean finished the tournament at eight under, with compatriot I.K. Kim in outright second another four shots back at minus four. Only three players finished under par, with So Yeon Ru completing a trifecta for South Korea by claiming third at one under. Park has now won six times this year and would be pursuing the grand slam at the Women&aposs British Open next month if it wasn&apost for the recent introduction of a fifth major at The Evian Championship in September. No woman has ever won the four-major grand slam, although Babe Zaharias matched Park&aposs effort of three way back in 1950.
