Norman in good position

Australian sporting legend Greg Norman and his playing partner Bubba Watson are one stroke off the pace at the Merril Lynch Shootout after claiming a seven-under score on the first day of the tournament. Norman, who hosts the tournament, and playing partner Watson carded a seven-under 65 on the first day of the alternate shot format tournament, to be just one stroke behind two all American teams consisting of Woody Austin and Mark Calcavecchia along with Fred Funk and Jeff Sluman.
