Norman OK after chainsaw accident

Norman has been released from hospital in the United States after almost severing his left hand in a chainsaw accident.

Norman, 59, was trimming trees at his home in Florida when the blade hit him near the wrist.

“At least I can still play tennis," Norman told the Associated Press.

"Thank God the blade wasn't running full speed or it would have taken my hand off. I handled everything as calmly as I could. There is no major damage. There is nerve damage, but no muscular damage. They fixed me up and here I am.’’

Norman posted an instagram photograph of him back at home with a large foam protective device on his left arm. He told AP that he would be required to keep the foam for a few days, then a sling.

"There's a little tingling in my fingers, which is better than no fingers at all," he said.
