Australian veteran Greg Norman and partner Camilo Villegas are in a tie for sixth place after the opening round of the Merrill Lynch Shootout in Naples. Tournament founder, Norman, and Villegas combined for a three-under par 69 to be five strokes behind leaders Nick Price and Jeff Sluman. Twelve pairings of golfing greats team up in the 54-hole tournament with the first round using a modified alternate shot format. Scott Hoch and Kenny Perry are one shot behind the leaders with J.B. Holmes and Boo Weekley a further two shots back. Stewart Cink and Fred Couples and Zach Johnson and Scott Verplank are tied for fourth place at four-under par. The action continues on Saturday with a better-ball format, followed by the Sunday&aposs best-ball format to conclude the tournament.
