Greg Norman will play his first event in more than two years at next year&aposs Johnnie Walker Classic in Perth, tournament organisers announced on Tuesday morning. Norman has committed to the tournament which will be staged at Perth&aposs Vines Resort and Country Club from February 19 to 22. The former world No.1 has not played in Australia since competing in the Australian Open at Royal Sydney in November 2006. The presence of Norman, one of the world&aposs most enduring sporting figures, will be a massive boost to the tournament, which is tri-sanctioned by the European, Asian and Australasian Tours. He won this event in 1994 when it was staged in Phuket. A two-time major winner, Norman, who recently married former tennis star Chris Evert, made headlines for his sporting achievement earlier this month when he led entering the final round of the British Open, his first major appearance in three years. But the sentimental favourite could not complete a fairytale triumph in the final round and finished third.
