North West Bay Golf Club maintained its dominance of the Southern Country Shield at the weekend winning its fifth straight title at Huon Valley Golf Club. The best three out of four scores for the club claimed the event, with the team of Ashley Kline, Glen Kline, James Mashberg and Jeff Rogers combining for a total of 240. This year s win lifts the club s total of Country Shield victories to an amazing 20 times since the event s inception. Huon Valley s team of Mark Keough, Matthew Keough and Stuart Randle placed second with an aggregate total of 241. The net shield was won by Huon Valley s number three team of Red Amor, Allan Everson, Allen Kelly and John Walker with a total of 214. The best individual gross score excluding winning teams was collected by Ouse Golf Club’s John Ramsden with a three-under-par total of 69.
