Now is the time to Play 9

Golf Australia is offering you the chance to win the experience of a lifetime, just by playing nine holes!

28 lucky golfers from around the country will get the chance to play like a pro on the Saturday of the 2019 Australian Open, held at The Australian Golf Club from 5-8 December – and you could be one of them.

In addition to playing the national nine-hole final competition on the championship course, winners from each state will travel to Sydney, stay for two nights, attend the Champion’s Cocktail function and receive a player gift pack – all courtesy of Golf Australia.

One male and one female winner of the final will go on to play in the 2020 nine-hole challenge at the 149th Open, hosted by the R&A at Royal St George’s, England.

After winning last year’s Play 9 event at the 2018 Emirates Australian Open, Jackie Lawson and Allan Lodge are now set for the trip of a lifetime to Royal Portrush before the 148th Open this July.

“It’s fantastic, I’m very excited to be going to Royal Portrush,” Lodge said. “A links course, that will be something different. We don’t have any of those up in Darwin so I’m looking forward to it!”

An ecstatic Lawson shared the same view.

“It has been a wonderful day,” Lawson said. “I think nine holes is a brilliant idea.”

You can play in multiple competitions, although must have an official Golf Australia handicap to be eligible.
