A strong contingent of NSW players headed into Friday afternoon s matches hoping to be there for the weekend&aposs quarter finals and beyond in the Australian Amateur Championships. In the women’s event, NSW was represented by Lauren Hibbert, Cathleen Santoso and Shelley Shin. Lauren pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the Amateur Championships to date by defeating number one qualifier Grace Lennon (Victoria) in her first round match. In the men’s event, Dylan Perry, Dale Brandt-Richards and Dale Williamson were our last men standing. In the end it was Queensland&aposs Cameron Smith and Western Australia&aposs Minjee Lee who took home the prize. [See articles below]
