Sunday 22 April PRIZE WINNERS PHOTO GALLERY One hundred and ten competitors tee d off this morning in the 2012 Men’sand Women’s Foursomes Championships, being played at Cronulla Golf Club. Despite heavy rain throughout the week the course was in excellent condition for the 36-hole event. In the Women’s event, the pairing of Adrianna Brent (The Lakes) and Lauren Hibbert (Pennant Hills) had a strong first 18-holes, shooting a one under par 72. They held a four stroke lead over second place pair Olivia Wilson (NSW) and Cathleen Santoso (The Lakes) who finished with three over 76. Chantal Hodson (The Australian) and Carly Beck (The Australian) were third with 80. Over the second 18-holes Wilson and Santoso set out to chase the leaders. Two under after the first nine, they were making ground. However a bogey on 17 put a dent in their score, finishing the round with 71. Early leaders Brent and Hibbert had a second round score of 74 which proved to be just enough, securing the Championship title by just one shot. Women&aposs Foursomes – Leaderboard In the Men’sevent the pairing of Matt Burns (NSW) and Derryn Weigand (Bankstown) led after the first 18-holes with a one over par 71. There were five pairs finishing just two behind the leaders on 73, the Monash pairing of Andrew Thompson and Spencer Morgan, Dimi Papadatos (Moore Park) and Zac Stolz (Pymble), Jordan Zunic (Bonnie Doon) and Daniel Bringolf (The Australian), and Glenmore due Andrew Robb and Craig Fox. In a fantastic second round Papadatos and Stolz shot a seven under 64. This saw them finish with 137 to blitz the field by five shots and take out the title. Early leaders Burns and Weigand finished in third place on 145, while Sondjaja and Kato were second with 142. This year saw the introduction of the NSW Foursomes Club Champion of Champions event. The Men’swas won by Bonnie Doon pairing Ruben Sondjaja and Ricky Kato, while the Women’s was won by Jan Jacka and Tracey Wood from Camden Lakeside. Men&aposs Foursomes – Leaderboard Friday 20 April The 2012 Men’sand Women’s NSW Foursomes Championships are being held at Cronulla Golf Club on Sunday 22 April 2012. A field of 110 will contest the Championship, which will be stroke play over 36 holes, morning and afternoon rounds. DRAW and PLAYER INFORMATION 2012 is the second year the men’s and women’s events have been held together. This year Golf NSW is pleased to announce the introduction of the NSW Foursomes Club Champion of Champions event, to be played in conjunction with the NSW Men’sand Women’s Foursomes Championship. Both Men’sand Women’s Foursomes Club Champion pairs were invited to enter and play in this inaugural event. The winning Men’sand Women’s Teams will be crowned 2012 NSW Foursomes Club Champion of Champions.
