Victoria’s Mark Boulton and Sydney’s Jan Crichton were crowned the Men’s and Women’s NSW Mid-Amateur Champions for 2017 after strong performances at Tocumwal Golf Club.

Boulton, from Phillip Island Golf Club, carded rounds of 71, 73 and 72 to finish with an even-par total of 216. Four shots behind him was Macquarie Links’ Jason Webb, while James Orpwood from the Dunes Golf Club was another shot back in third.

The 44-year-old Bolton was thrilled with his front-running victory.

“I played fairly solid, hit fairway and greens. I missed a few putts here and there, but overall I am pretty happy.”

Killara’s Jan Crichton has successfully defended her 2016 title in the Women’s Championship. It was a tight finish between her and the eventual runner up, Adele Huggard (Southern) who ended up two shots back.
