Field Breakdown and Exemptions

Exempt Professional Golfers

Leading 84 players from the PGATA exemption categories, 20 International Invites, 18 International Amateurs, 7 Regional Qualifying (Golf NSW), 10 Pre-Qualifying positions, 9 Exempt Amateurs (Golf NSW), 8 Tournament Invites.

Exemption from Qualifying – Amateur

As provided for in the agreement between Golf NSW and PGA, Golf NSW may provide up to a maximum number of 34 exemptions for amateur players from pre-qualifying for the 2018 Championship.

Golf NSW will notify the relevant players of their exemption.

Exemptions for the 2018 Championship will be allocated in the following order:

a.  18 International Amateurs as invited by Golf NSW.
b. 7 Winners of the Regional Qualifying Events @ Moree, Forbes, Camden, Thurgoona, Nambucca Heads, Bathurst and Griffith.
c. Members of the 2018 NSW Amateur State or Boys' Teams that are also in National Squad Tier 1 or 2 or Junior at close of entries.
d. 2018 NSW Amateur Champion and Medallist.
e. Golf Australia selections (Maximum Three)
f. 2018 NSW Mid Amateur Champion.
g. 2018 NSW Mid Amateur Champion.
h. 2018 NSW Junior Champion.
i. 2018 Australian Master of the Amateurs Champion.
j. Members of the 2018 NSW Amateur State Team or High Performance Squad (not in National Squad at close of entries). 
In order of National Ranking as at closing date of entries.
k. Members of Golf Australia National Squad (Tier 2) as at closing date of entries. In order of National Ranking as at closing date of entries.

Club Champion of the Host Club.

Tournament

The tournament shall be decided over 4 rounds (72 holes) stroke play. 156 players will play one round on each of the first two days, after which the leading 60 professionals plus ties for 60th place, plus any amateurs on the same score after the second round, shall qualify to play rounds 3 and 4. In the event of a tie for first place, a 'sudden death' play-off will take place on the 18th until there is a result or as otherwise determined by the tournament committee.

Pre-Qualifying

Amateur Regional Pre-Qualifying entries are now open.

FInal Pre Qualifying (Amateur and Professional) will be conducted at Bayview, Liverpool and Glenmore on Monday, 25 November.

Parking

Participating players will park in the club car park using their PGA Tour Accreditation for access 

Caddies

All players must have a caddy for the NSW Open.

Locker Room

Participating players may use the Men’s Locker Room on the ground floor of the clubhouse.

Players and caddies are to follow the dress regulations as stated in the Membership Regulations Handbook. Long pants are COMPULSORY at all PGA Tour of Australasia tournaments.

Entry Form (Amateurs ONLY)

Amateur wishing to enter Monday Pre-Qualifying will be able to enter closer to the date. Professionals should refer to the PGA website.
