Jordan Zunic (Bonnie Doon) led the NSW boys with a 1 under par 71 in windy conditions on the first day of the Australian Master of the Amateurs Championship. He sat one shot off the lead with Cameron Davis (Roseville) and Troy Moses (Bonnie Doon) only two behind on an even par. Jordan&aposs short game was superb with the pin positions tucked away and firm and fast greens. Cameron put a new putter in the bag only ten minutes prior to teeing off and putted beautifully all day on the treacherous greens. Troy had 34 putts in a superb ball striking round of even par. Harrison Endycott (Avondale) was pleased with 75 in his first tournament round at Royal Melbourne. He commented that the preparation was key to playing the course so effectively and was really excited about the next few days. Dale Brandt-Richards (Mona Vale) fell victim to a couple of tricky pin placements but some solid work after the round with national coach Dean Kinney saw him feeling positive about the next couple of days. The second round of the Master of Amateurs on Day 2 started with beautiful weather. The NSW crew started their respective rounds positively. The wind came from the opposite direction which tested their planning. Jordan continues to lead the NSW team (144), followed by Troy Moses (147), Cameron Davis (148), Dale Brandt-Richards (149), and Harrison Endycott (150). Queensland&aposs Simon Viitakangas sits at the top of the leaderboard on 140. For more information about the Australian Master of Amateurs visit: www.masteroftheamateurs.com.au.
