NSW women narrowly missed out on a place in the final yesterday, on a countback having won the same number of contests but one less individual match than eventual winners WA (who defeated Victoria 6-0 in the final). WA s only loss in the competition was against NSW. Unfortunately, we also lost this morning in the Consolation final against Queensland 4-2, with Adrianna Brent and Carly Beck being winners on the final day. A highlight of the day (and the event) was Carly Beck s hole in one today to win her match 3 & 1.
Day 4 (am)
Play has been temporarily suspended after Round 1 due to fog at both Royal Adelaide & West Lakes Golf Clubs.

Day 3 wrap The men’s NSW State team this morning had a hard fought win against defending champions Queensland 41/2-21/2 to move into the 2012 Men’sInterstate Series final. Midway through the back nine holes it was still anybody s to win or lose but gutsy wins by Daniel Bringolf and Jake Higginbottom playing number 3 and 1 respectively and a squared match by no. 2 Brett Drewitt secured last year s 5th placed getters into this year s final. Solid early wins by 2012 NSW Junior Team Captain Ricky Kato and 2012 Men’sTeam Captain Dimi Papadatos helped the Waratahs secure their finals berth against the quiet achievers Tasmania tomorrow morning. Coach Pullen commented that “the amazing fact about this year s two finalist is that they battled off for 5th and 6th place in last year s series. Quite an amazing turnaround in a short 8 month period for both teams!!!” All eight NSW players will have to be at their very best to beat the players from the apple isle who last won a series in 1977. * Click to read article NSW leads Interstate Series in Adelaide by Golf Grinder – May 3rd 2012 To view the latest score updates [Click Here]
Day 2 (pm) Although beaten by Western Australia in the afternoon the team showed plenty of character in the match, as through 9 holes they only had one match up. Ricky Kato showed experience beyond his years to come back with a win on the last hole being 4 down with 6 to play. Ben Clementson also holed a 10 footer on the last hole which secured his win after his playing partner holed a 30 foot putt before him. Coach Pullen said “the team completed a good pool recovery session in the evening. They are eager to turn the tables on Queensland in the next match after last year&aposs defeat to secure their place in the final on Friday morning”. Day 2 (am) To view the latest score updates [Click Here] NSW&aposs men have continued their winning ways defeating Victoria this morning 4/3. The win was highlighted by significant victories to Jake Higginbottom and Brett Drewitt, at positions 1 and 2. NSW now lead the event and play Western Australia this afternoon. While the women were defeated by Victoria, they have the opportunity to get back into contention by defeating leaders Western Australia in the p.m. contest. In the other matches, Tasmania are celebrating after their men and women both won against Queensland.
Day 1 (pm) The NSW State Men&aposs & Women&aposs Teams are off to a winning start to the 2012 Interstate Series with wins against SA and Tasmania on day 1. Deputy Chairman Golf NSW, Sue Fabian, was at West Lakes and commented that “The NSW team played well against South Australia in the morning, and in the afternoon again showed the overall strength of the whole team in defeating Tasmania, where, although the No. 1 and 2 matches were lost, 3 and 4 were comfortable wins; and the hard fought No. 5 match won on the last hole. The course is challenging with very undulating greens and tight fairways, which penalise even a slightly wayward shot. The NSW girls (picture below) are working hard at their pre-match preparation, and have a great team spirit.”
