2008 Interstate Women&aposs Teams Matches winner: New South Wales Amidst heavy rain at the magnificent Pymble Golf Club, the New South Wales women’s team fought their way to victory and the title in the Interstate Teams Matches. Led by World Amateur Teams Championships squad member Julia Boland, New South Wales beat South Australia in the morning singles. Queensland turned it into a two-horse race as they matched NSW with 3.5 wins in the singles after getting the better of Victoria. Key to that was Queensland s Courtney Massey who remained undefeated throughout the tournament, finishing the series with a 1-up win over Grace Lennon. Tasmania tied with Western Australia on 2.5 matches apiece. The impressive Ashlee Dewhurst beat national squad member Whitney Hillier 4&3. WA&aposs Nicole Montgomery finished her series well with a 1-up win over Sarah Johnstone. Foursomes matches were abandoned as bad weather rolled across Sydney.
