By LAUREN WRIGHT – Southern Highland News LAST week the Highlands played host to the Ladies Summer Meeting. The tournament, sponsored by Pepper Manor House and run by Golf NSW, ran from March 7-10, and 275 golfers from all over NSW enjoyed some excellent golf at Bowral, Moss Vale, Mount Broughton and Highlands Golf Clubs. Debbi Nunn won the Division One Open Summer Cup. Nunn, from Wakehurst Golf Club, has been competing in this event for the last 24 years. Wakehurst Golf Club was represented by an impressive 64 competitors this year. Carolyn Morgan from Bayview Golf Club also had an excellent week, and took home the Summer Salver. The final day was a teams event, held at Bowral, Moss Vale and the Highlands courses. The best score from Bowral was +13, with the Bowral team scoring +11, Moss vale was won by the Highland Ladies, and Jeanne White from Bowral, one of a mixed team came third with +15. The Highlands winning score was +9, and the Bowral ladies scored +8. Always a popular event for golfers in the Southern Highlands, the Ladies Summer Meeting has already been booked again for the first week of March next year.
