Ogilvy remains in touch

Australian golfer Geoff Ogilvy is just four strokes from the lead going into the final round of the Barclays Classic in Harrison, New York. Ogilvy made five birdies and three bogeys in his round of 69 to finish at 10-under-par, four shots behind American Steve Stricker who carded a 65. Stricker bogeyed the first but hit back in spectacular style to be 14-under-par through 54 holes and edge in front of second-round leader KJ Choi. The Korean overcame bogeys at the 13th and 15th to birdie the final two holes. Hunter Mahan tied a course record with a nine-under 62 to pull into a tie for third place with Rich Beem at 12-under. Mahan, who began the third round tied for 31st, carded nine birdies and played bogey-free golf to post the third 62 of his career. Beem struggled out of the gate, carding three bogeys on his first eight holes before he eagled the ninth. Birdies on the 10th and 13th followed before he parred out the final five holes. Rory Sabbatini, who was the first-round leader, also eagled the ninth hole. But bogeys on 11, 15 and 16 landed him in a three-way tie for fifth place at 10-under. Nick O&aposHern is the next best placed Australian, currently in a tie for 19th place at six-under-par, one shot clear of fellow Australians Aaron Baddeley and Adam Scott. Rod Pampling and Andrew Buckle finished their third rounds at three-under, and two-under respectively, while compatriot Nathan Green is tied for 72nd at three-over-par.
