Ogilvy upstaged by Tiger

By Alistair Hogg Australian Geoff Ogilvy shot a final round 71 but it wasn&apost enough to hold onto the lead as tournament host Tiger Woods stormed home to win the Target World Challenge at Sherwood Country Club, California. Wood&aposs majestic final round 66 took him to 16-under for the tournament ahead of Ogilvy on 12-under and American Chris DiMarco who had 11-under. Ogilvy led the field into the final round after shooting a brilliant 67 on Saturday, but as any golfer will attest, a one-stroke lead over a prowling Tiger is never enough. Woods had six birdies in the first 10 holes as he set out to catch the Victorian. Ogilvy couldn&apost match him early and failed to go sub-par for the round until a birdie on the par-five fifteenth – something he has managed to do in all four rounds this week. However the 29-year-old failed to consolidate and dropped a stroke on the following hole as chances of victory faded. Woods remained consistent throughout the turn until a bogey on 15 threatened to derail his charge. But the champ settled to birdie 16 and 18 to streak ahead by four strokes and claim his ninth PGA title of the year. Meanwhile, Adam Scott finished what would be a disappointing tournament for his standards, tied for 14th spot. The South Australian was never in the hunt after rounds of 75 and 80, but recovered to post a respectable 69 in the third round and was even with the card on Sunday.
