O’Hair and Perry hold the aces

Sean O&aposHair and Kenny Perry shot a 61 to open up a two-stroke advantage heading into the final round of the Franklin Templeton Shootout. Using the better ball format where the best score of the two players on each hole is used, O&aposHair and Perry dismantled the Tiburon Golf Club layout in Florida with their impressive 11 under round on Saturday. The pair overcame a brief rain delay midway through their round to birdie the final six holes and move to the top of the leaderboard at 19-under overall. Overnight pacesetters Davis Love III and Brandt Snedeker couldn&apost quite match their opening round of 62 and eventually signed for a 65 to be two behind the leaders at minus 17. There are another three pairs a further two shots back at 15 under, including defending champions Keegan Bradley and Brendan Steele. But they will be doing well to catch O&aposHair and Perry out in front, who are in control after a scintillating second round. The tournament will conclude on Sunday with the final round being played under another different scoring method called &aposscramble&apos. Both players will hit a drive off each tee on Sunday, with the pair&aposs second shots to be played from the spot where the selected drive is placed. This method is repeated until the hole is completed.
