Oliver and Krall tied at Cobram-Barooga

Defending Champion Rick Oliver and Guy Krall from Yarra Yarra share the lead after the second round of the 2013 Cobram-Barooga Senior Amateur being played this week over 54-holes at the Cobram Barooga Golf Club.

A major event on the Victorian Senior Golf Program for the Doug Bachli Trophy, Oliver and Krall both returned second rounds of 80 to lead by one-stroke from 2012 Doug Bachli Trophy winner Alan Bullas, Hank Van De Ven and Ray Walker on 154. Three-time Victorian Senior Amateur Champion, Bill Banks from Canberra is just one stroke further back on 154.

The 119 players competing in the 2013 Men’s Championship will enjoy a rest day tomorrow before Thursday’s final round to decide the title. While the second round was played under overcast, drizzly conditions, sunny conditions are predicted for the finale to the 2013 title.

In addition to the Men’s stroke competition, the Championship also includes a women’s title with Nola Caruthers leading after 36-holes on 171 from Phillip Island. A further 54 men and 52 women are also competing in the Senior Stableford event being played concurrently with Cheltenham’s Mark Brennan out in front on 78 points, while Anne Glassey leads the women’s section on 67 points.
