Helen Pascoe (Buninyong) impresses again as she goes on to win the 2015 Victorian Women’s Sandgreens Championship with rounds of 79 & 77. Pascoe showed she could handle the pressure coming down the back nine, as she amazing recorded four birdies on holes 13, 14, 16 & 17. Mary Anne Davis (Murray Downs) finished one shot adrift.
“I have never seen the course is such great condition. The scrapes have to be the most consistent that I have played on”. Pascoe mentioned.
A tremendous field of 127 women continued their Sandgreens Championship here at Avoca Country Golf Club with round two played today in what was near perfect golfing weather. Light winds greeted the morning field which created ideal scoring conditions. While winds slightly picked up in the afternoon, it didn’t trouble Pascoe who has now won two sandgreens titles after her 2013 win.
In the nett, it was first timer and overnight leader Isobel Oliver (Inverleigh) who capped of a remarkable couple of days to win from Jan Lang. Oliver recorded rounds of 65 & 72. Isobel, a new person to golf, was delighted in her performance and enjoyed her first championship.

Avoca has been an outstanding host venue with countless volunteers involved ranging from committee members, community volunteers, club members and family & friends. The club has managed to welcome all players to a high standard, and had catered brilliantly for the 90+ at the Tournament Dinner on Monday night.
The Victorian Sandgreens Championship takes on a new look in 2016 with both the Men’s & Women’s events played in the one week from 7-11 September at the Bannockburn Golf Club.
