National Squad member and former Australian junior champion Ashley Ona will enjoy re-living this Sunday for some time to come after she outlasted a quality professional field to win the 2011 ActewAGL Royal Canberra Ladies Classic by one shot. American Alison Walshe stormed home to put the pressure on, but fell one shot shy of forcing a playoff to finish outright second. In third place was Sydney&aposs Frances Bondad, who called a penalty on herself on the 16th green when she was still in the hunt for the title. It was a tournament to be remembered for many reasons; an albatross on the second day by Tiffany Joh, the immaculate condition of the Royal Canberra layout, Bondad&aposs honesty, but above all for the large crowd. They will remember that an amateur came to Canberra and beat a stellar field of professionals including her sublime chip shot under immense pressure on the last hole.
