National Squad member Ashley Ona won the St Rule Trophy on a count back following poor weather at St Andrews. Ashley Ona writes: St Andrews hasn&apost been very kind to us Aussie girls weather wise. We arrived in St Andrews on Monday afternoon to be welcomed with falling trees, fierce winds that blew bins and signs over and honestly nearly myself and Breanna over. Round 1 was on Saturday and the weather wasn&apost kind at all with crazy winds and also a random hail storm in the middle of our round to top it off. Though the weather wasn&apost pleasant, us Aussie girls got the job done shooting great score in the conditions. Bre 73 (-2), Whitney 75 (par) and myself 73 (-2). Round 2, Sunday, &aposMoving Day&apos a slight play on words because the wind wasnt friendly, the only thing that was moving were unstable bodies and buggies that were falling over, we played 5 holes before play was suspended for 2 hours and then again for an hour before they called it quits and announced it to be a 18 hole competition. Which ended the tournament experience on a slight low not being able to play the famous road hole and walking up the last to putt out. We all did well winning the teams event for Australia for the second year in a row at 4-under par and all placing in the top 5. All in all St Andrews has been a life time experience and one we will remember for sure. Results (Australians) 1st Ashley Ona (QLD) (-2) on a count back 2nd Breanna Elliott (VIC) (-2) 5th Whitney Hillier (WA) (even)
