Shoalhaven Heads Golf Club
Every day is open to visitors at Shoalhaven Heads Golf Club, whether they take part in the competitions or not. Ladies day is Tuesday, Vets day is Thursday, pro shop competitions are held on Wednesday and Saturday. Anyone wishing to play in the comps or play after the competition has teed off should contact the Pro Shop who will allocate a tee time. If the visitor wishes to play but does not have a partner, Greg and Danny are usually able to find someone to play with them. (Tel:(02) 4448 8683).
The Club basically has weekly comps, a ladies charity day in June, Holden Scramble in August, Corporate Challenge in October and a new charity day at the end of October to raise funds for the Cancer Care unit at the Shoalhaven Hospital.
From November to March the Club has a Summer Comp, which consists of teams of 8 playing 9 nine holes, individually over the course of the week, with 5 scores to count. The comp is sponsored by the Heads Hotel each year.
Having grown slowly from a 3 to an 18 hole course it is in excellent condition, is long and has bunkers but no water. A typical links course it, of course, drains very quickly and sometimes Shoalhaven Golf Club is the only course open in the area following heavy rains.
