Ormsby leads in India

Australian Wade Ormsby&aposs bid for a maiden Asian Tour title remains on track after he opened up a two-stroke lead at the halfway stage of the Panasonic Open India on Friday. Ormsby, who was in a three-way tie for top spot on the leaderboard following Thursday&aposs opening round, carded a five-under-par second round of 67 to move to 10-under overall for the tournament, two shots clear of Singapore&aposs Lam Chih Bing at the Delhi Golf Club. Ormsby, 33, is yet to taste victory since turning professional in 2001 but he moved a step closer to an elusive win on Friday. Ormsby holed six birdies throughout the second round, including two in his opening three holes to make a flying start. Lam held the outright lead early in the day but had to settle for second place on the leaderboard heading into round three on the back of his three-under 69. Indian S.S.P Chowrasia (69) is four shots off the pace, tied third with Thailand&aposs Boonchu Ruangkit (68) on six under. Sam Brazel is the next-best performing Aussie in New Delhi, following Kieran Pratt&aposs capitulation. Brazel posted a 72 on Friday, a round which included three birdies and three bogeys, to hold a share of 12th at one under. Pratt, meanwhile, had been in a share of the lead at the start of play but an eventual five-over 77 saw him slip back to even par, tied 17th alongside compatriots Adam Groom (74) and David Lutterus (73).
