Event Overview
About
The NSW Women's Fourball Championship is a State event for the average Club golfer and is conducted in three (3) stages. The event commenced in 1990 as a three-ball-best-ball and in 2013 it became a fourball event.
Stage 1: Club
A Club qualifying round is conducted, usually in conjunction with a scheduled Fourball event. The eligible pairs from the Country & Metropolitan Club qualifying events then progress to Stage 2.
The competition involves two (2) competitors' playing as partners, each playing their own ball. The best score of the two players is the score for the hole. Each pair will consist of two females who are members of the same golf Club, being the Club conducting the Stage 1 event and must remain financial members of that Club for the duration of the competition.
All stages will be conducted as a Women's Fourball Par event. At the District, Metropolitan & State Finals, each player will play off their "cap point handicap"; ie. The lowest handicap for the previous 12 months.

Stage 2: District & Metropolitan Finals
Finals are conducted in each of the fourteen (14) District Associations as well as one (1) Metropolitan Final.
For the Country District Finals, the breakdown of qualifiers are the winners of the fourteen (14) District Finals, plus the six (6) Districts with the largest number of players in Stage 1 who will have their runner-up pair qualify. This makes a total of twenty (20) District qualifying pairs and ten (10) Metropolitan qualifying pairs who then play off in the State Final – Stage 3.
Stage 3: State Final
The State Final is a 36 hole Par event (two rounds of 18 holes) which in 2016 will be conducted over two days, Wednesday 23rd & Thursday 24th November at the Bonville Golf Resort.
