Park wins Katherine Hull Classic

Courtesy: Golf Queensland Final Results Jessica Park (Brisbane) has proved too dominant after successfully winning the 2010 Katherine Hull Classic at the Sunshine Coast s Horton Park Golf Club. Park was just to strong after closing out the field will a final round score of 75 (+2) to join her first round score of 70 (-3) and a second round course record 66 (-7) to finish 211 for the championship. Park finished six strokes clear of her nearest rival and joint first round leader Emily McLennan (Hills). McLennan was unable to catch Park after finishing the championship with 73 even par. Emily was consistent all day but was too far back, finishing with rounds of 70 (-3), 74(-1) and 73 even par for 217. Gold Coast Country Club member and last year s champion was victorious in the 15 years & Under division. Choi opened her tournament with a disappointing 77(+4) but managed to return a 71 (-2) in the second round, she closed her campaign with a one under par 72 to finish 220. Choi edged out local member Lauren Mason (Horton Park) after she fished with rounds of 78(+5), 73, 73 for 224. In the under 21 years category Susan Glasby (Ipswich) managed to edge out Lakelands member Saki Suzuki after returning rounds of 77,77,73 for 227. Suzuki finished the tournament with scores of 76,74,78- 228. Now in its second year The Katherine Hull Classic will continue to be a prominent feature on the Golf Queensland calendar, thank you to Katherine s continued support. A special thank you must also go to the course superintendent Pat Pauley and his team for presenting the Horton Park layout in such magnificent condition over the past three days.
