Parker takes Victorian Women’s Amateur title

Woodland&aposs Jess Parker emerged triumphant from the Victorian Women&aposs Amateur Championship with a 3/1 victory over Grace Lennon in yesterday&aposs final at Victoria Golf Club. The win gives Parker a rare double after she also claimed the foursomes with caddy Tamara Fuller. Parker led by five at the lunch break but had to stave off a determined Lennon who mounted a late comeback. Her lead was cut to two at the half-way mark as the pair traded holes. Parker extended her lead to three before Lennon drained a long putt on 15 to reduce the margin back to two. The pair halved 16 with a bogey before Parker claimed the 17th – and the Championship – with a par at the 17th. Parker&aposs road to the final: Rd1 d. Lauren Sinclair (Heidelberg) 2/1 Q-F d.
