Jesper Parnevik continues to lead the Texas Open after carding a four-under-par 66 in Saturday&aposs third round of the event. At 18-under 192, Parnevik has a three-shot lead over countryman Mathias Gronberg. The nearest Australian is Gavin Coles, who is 12 strokes behind, while Mathew Goggin, Paul Gow and Jarrod Lyle are all on three-under. Parnevik has torn through LaCantera Golf Course this week with just four bogeys in three rounds. In Thursday&aposs first round, he overcame a bogey on his first hole to finish with 10 birdies in a career-best nine-under 61. He shot a 66 on Friday and had six more birdies on Saturday to set himself up for his first PGA Tour victory since the 2001 Honda Classic. Parnevik had an uneven start to his round, birdying his first hole but following it up with a bogey. He added a birdie at number seven and started his back nine with a bogey at 10 before a strong finish. Three consecutive birdies starting at number 11 put Parnevik back in control. He added his last birdie at 17. Gronberg fired six birdies with one bogey in a five-under 65 that kept him in second place at 15-under 195. He had two birdies on the front nine and after a bogey at 10, Gronberg had consecutive birdies at number 12 and 13 and again at numbers 15 an 16. Justin Leonard, who won this event in 2000 and 2001, is in third at 14-under 196 after a bogey-free 64 that included six birdies.
