Pascoe and O’Brien lead overnight at the Eureka Senior Amateur

The 2019 Eureka Senior Amateur got under way today with 64 players teeing off at the Buninyong Golf Club.

 

Local Helen Pascoe made the most of her knowledge of the course scoring 39 stableford points to lead the Women’s Scratch Stableford section.

 

Pascoe's round included an impressive seven birdies and has put her 12 points clear overnight. In second place is Bev Smith on 27 points followed by Debbie Gorin on 26.

 

In the Men’s Gross section, Ken O’Brien holds a narrow overnight lead after having a two- over-par round of 74. Close behind him after shooting a 75 is Alan Bullas followed by Ross Percy, Robert Wallace and Guy Krall who all had 76. With 11 players within four strokes of the lead it is sure to be a fiercely contested final round tomorrow.

 

Alison Barrett is the leader after round one in the Women’s Stableford section after shooting 40 points. She leads Scratch Stableford leader Helen Pascoe by one point going into the final round. Four points back on 36 are both Jan Smith and Debbie Gorin.

 

The Men’s Nett section is led by Ken Bruton who is sitting four-under-par on 68. Keith Finkelde will be looking to chase him down in round two as he sits two shots back on 70. One shot further back and one-under-par are Alan Bullas, Ken O’Brien and Ignatius Duivenvoorden.
