It was a frosty 7:30am start at Elmore today for the second and final round of the Victorian Women’s Sandgreens Championship. Players in the morning braved temperatures that barely peaked above 10 degrees, while the afternoon players were spoilt with sunshine breaking through the clouds.
Mansfield was well represented during presentations, with members Millie Cumming and Virginia Bailey cleaning up the 36-hole Gross prizes in B & C Grade with scores of 18 and 206 respectively. Bailey also took home the 36-hole Nett prize in C-Grade with a two-round total of 152, which follows up her Overall Nett win at last year’s Championship in Charlton.
Rhonda Fatone came in with the best 36-hole Nett score across all the grades. The 14 marker from Inverleigh posted two consistent rounds of nett 75 for a two-round total of 150.The B-Grade 36-hole nett event was won by fellow Inverleigh member Lesley Johns (Hcap 20) on nett 151.
Thank you to Elmore Golf Club for hosting the event this year. Also thank you to the volunteers who came out to help scrape the greens each day.
